Letter: Stanley Ellis obituary
Brian MacDonald writes: I had the privilege of using Stanley Ellis (obituary, 14 November) a number of times as an expert witness when I was an investigator for HM Customs. I first met him in 1989, when I gave him a short lift to Isleworth crown court. We spoke only briefly during the car journey, and as he got out of my car, he surprised me by asking which part of the Wirral peninsula I was brought up in (astonishing, as I had left the Wirral nearly 30 years earlier). Stanley was enthusiastic and meticulous about his specialism and fair in his opinions. He will be missed.LinguisticsResearchUniversity of LeedsForensic scienceguardian.co.uk © Guardian News & Media Limited 2009 | Use of this content is subject to our Terms & Conditions | More Feeds
